Road Rules VI

APRIL 19 & 20

Road Rules is a weekend when UGA HEROs takes canning on the road to various Kroger and Wal-Mart locations, usually around the Athens or Atlanta area. “Canning” is basically holding a bucket and asking people to make donations…

For those participating:

Supplies you need…

  • Buckets

  • HERO T-Shirt

  • Posters

  • Envelope for money

What you need to know…

  • All the money you raise goes directly towards your personal fundraising goal.

  • Upon arrival, make sure to check in with a store manager. You may be asked to sign a solicitation policy.

  • We strongly encourage you to bring posters to display. Feel free to bring a table and chairs also.

  • Wear your HERO shirt.

  • Please turn in money to committee head or Courtney Fennell.

  • Make sure to wait for the next group to hand-off your equipment.

HERO Basics: “We are students from UGA that work to raise money for children in Georgia affected and infected by HIV and AIDS. We are the only non-profit that provides quality of life, mentoring, and life-skills programs for these children.”

Today at 4:15 in Memorial Hall, the Black Affairs Council showed their support for UGA HEROs by presenting us with a check and the “BAC Wall of Love,” which was a huge wall with red ribbons they have collected to show their support. Bynikini Frazier (BAC Political Action Chair) and Garrett Gravesen (HERO for Children Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director) spoke on behalf of the two organizations.

UGA HEROs is very excited about partnering with the BAC and appreciates all of the love and support they have extended us! THANK YOU!
