This past Saturday, the In-Kind Donations Committee hosted a luncheon for local Athens business owners and UGA faculty. Co-Founder Garrett Gravesen was in attendance and spoke about the creation of HERO for Children Inc. Thank you to all of you who came out to show your support!

A message to UGA HEROs members and supporters:
We have defied all odds and have been the first organization ever to win this award two years in a row. Out of over 500 organizations on campus, UGA HEROs has been named the best not just once, or twice, but three times in our brief 5 year history! The caliber of our members and the caliber of our leadership is truly unique and engulfed with a passion for helping that is recognizable everywhere on this campus. Each of you be proud. YOU are a apart of why we are the best, of why we are so original and unique, and of why we are so passionate. UGA HEROs Loses One of Its Own

We’re very sad to report that Tierra Bardley, a member of the Residence Halls Committee, passed away early Saturday morning while returing to Athens from UGA Night at Six Flags. Click here to read the Red and Black Article.
Tierra was loved my so many people and she will be truly missed. To remeber her, UGA HEROs will honor her at the committee-wide monthly meeting this Wednesday, April 23rd at 6pm in Sandford 213.
UGA Black Affairs Council Partners with UGA HEROs

Today at 4:15 in Memorial Hall, the Black Affairs Council showed their support for UGA HEROs by presenting us with a check and the “BAC Wall of Love,” which was a huge wall with red ribbons they have collected to show their support. Bynikini Frazier (BAC Political Action Chair) and Garrett Gravesen (HERO for Children Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director) spoke on behalf of the two organizations.
UGA HEROs is very excited about partnering with the BAC and appreciates all of the love and support they have extended us! THANK YOU!

We hope you are SUPER excited about our day with the kids on Sunday!
Here are all the details you need to know:
What: HERO Day at Stone Mountain
Where: Stone Mountain!
When: 12:30pm- be on time because we will be dividing you into groups for the kids
We will be meeting in the Crossroads Parking lot: Go into the park through the main entrance. You will be on Jefferson Davis Drive. Continue until you come to Robert E. Lee Boulevard and turn left. The Parking lot should be on your right. If Robert E. Lee is closed, keep going straight, and take the next road on your left. The parking lot will then be on your left. I have attached a park map, so you can see exactly what i’m talking about.
*Make sure you wear your t-shirt so they kids can idenitify who you are! If you didn’t get to buy one, bring $5 because we will be selling them at the event. Also, bring your camera, so you can take a lot of pictures!
